Refund Policy
Last updated: 12 April 2026
We want every VidFinder customer to be happy. Here's exactly what to expect if something isn't working out.
1. Our approach
We want you to be genuinely happy with VidFinder. If it's not working for you, we would rather talk about it and fix the problem than have you pay for something that isn't delivering value. If a refund is the right outcome, we'll process it quickly and without hassle. Email us at support@vidfinder.io and we'll sort it out.
2. Your statutory cancellation right
If you are a consumer based in the UK or European Economic Area, you have a legal right to cancel a subscription within 14 days of purchase under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, without giving any reason.
Digital service waiver: When you start a VidFinder subscription and download the app before the 14-day period ends, we ask for your explicit consent to begin the digital service immediately. By confirming at checkout, you acknowledge that you lose your statutory 14-day cancellation right once you begin using the service. This is standard practice for subscription software and is permitted under UK law.
If you have not downloaded VidFinder at all, you retain the full 14-day right and are entitled to a complete refund — no questions asked. Just email us.
3. Free trial
New accounts come with a free trial period — no payment is taken during the trial. You can cancel at any time before the trial ends and you will never be charged. There is nothing to refund.
If you forget to cancel and are charged at the end of your trial, contact us within 7 days of the charge to discuss whether you are eligible for a refund. You will not be eligible for a refund if you have used the app since the time of the charge.
4. Monthly subscriptions
Monthly subscriptions are billed on the anniversary of your subscription start date each month. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for unused days within a billing period — cancelling mid-month means you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Exception — goodwill refunds
We may issue a refund for the current month if you have a genuine reason you were unable to use the service (e.g., a bug that broke core functionality for the majority of your billing period). Email us with details and we'll consider it on a case-by-case basis.
5. Annual subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are billed once per year at £99.00 and represent a discounted commitment. Our policy for annual plans:
- Within 14 days of purchase: In accordance with UK and EU law, you have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase or auto-renewal, if you have not used our service during that time. After this time, you will not be eligible for a refund.
Exception — goodwill refunds
We may issue a refund if you have a genuine reason you were unable to use the service (e.g., a bug that broke core functionality for the majority of your billing period). Email us with details and we'll consider it on a case-by-case basis.
We reserve the right to decline refunds where we have evidence of abuse (e.g., making a purchase specifically to extract value before requesting a refund).
6. How to request a refund
Email us at support@vidfinder.io with the subject line "Refund request" and include:
- The email address on your VidFinder account.
- The date of the charge you are disputing.
- A brief reason (optional, but helpful).
We aim to respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed by Paddle and typically appear in your account within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
7. When refunds are not available
- Refunds are not available for partial months on a monthly plan (outside the trial-end window above).
- We cannot issue refunds for charges that are more than 12 months old.
- Refunds are not available if your account was terminated for a breach of our Terms of Service.
- If you initiated a chargeback with your bank or card issuer before contacting us, your account may be suspended while the dispute is active. We encourage you to reach out to us first — chargebacks create additional costs for a small team.
8. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer protection law. If VidFinder is not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose, or not as described, you may have additional rights beyond those set out here. Contact us or seek advice from Citizens Advice or Trading Standards.
